McDonald’s just answered every vegan’s wish, so no more ordering only french fries.  The fast food chain is testing out a veggie burger, the McVegan in Tampere, Finland. The new burger will only be available until Nov. 21. So, you might want to catch the next flight out if you’re feeling hungry. According to the Finland website, the “McVegan is a 100 percent vegetable-based hamburger, where a soybean steak is spread between the familiar rolls.” Hopefully that sounds good to the people who will eat it. Good news Harry Potter fans, there’s a chance to catch the Golden Snitch…and eat it, too.  Sugar Shack Donuts made Butterbeer doughnuts with a doughnut hole shaped like a Golden Snitch in the middle. 100 points for creativity! Unfortunately, most of their locations are in Virginia, Florida, and Washington. So, catch the next Hogwarts train out or a ride on a broomstick for this limited time treat. Fireball bagels will make breakfast boozy without the booze

Ever wake up regretting that last shot of Fireball? Well, now you can extend that regret all the way through breakfast. The Fireball bagel is the latest bizarre offering from The Bagel Nook, a bagel shop in Freehold, New Jersey. Per Delish, the semi-boozy treats are made by pouring a bit of Fireball into the bagel dough itself, then dunking the finished bagels in a glaze made from even more of the liquor (reduced, of course, so it’s not actually alcoholic). Image: mcdonald’s / ebay listing The Season 3 finale might be hours away, but an even bigger day is still ahead for Rick & Morty fans. On Oct. 7, for one day only, McDonald’s will let all comers sample a bit of that sweet, sweet Szechuan sauce. The Holy Grail of Mickey D’s condiments was a punchline way back in April, when Rick & Morty‘s Season 3 premiere streamed for just 48 hours, starting on April Fool’s Day. Image: Baker’s Edge Just to let you know, if you buy something featured here, Mashable might earn an affiliate commission. It’s time to stop giving so much attention to the pineapple on pizza controversy – the real issue is brownie edges vs. middles. If you’re a person who cuts the rectangle of edge pieces out of the pan and leaves the rest to the plebeians, we understand you. Edges are chewier, crispier, and obviously better. Look at this M&M's face. He is so confused. Why is he in pie? Say to goodbye to summer, and thank the brands. The assault on the end of summer has officially begun. Starbucks made a Pumpkin Spice Latte announcement on Thursday, and recently, people started noticing that pumpkin pie flavored M&M’s have already hit the shelves. SEE ALSO: Starbucks just made a huge Pumpkin Spice Latte announcement While it may feel like summer outside, the barrage of pumpkin flavored and spiced food marks the beginning of the end. Image: mashable composite/lawrence k. ho/getty images For the non-Don Drapers among us, drinking at work is a far-off fantasy. But UK company ILoveGin wants to change that for one lucky “gintern.” ILoveGin, which is a monthly, subscription-based gin club (think Birchbox for gins), is hiring a paid intern to taste-test new gins, connect with gin brands, visit distilleries across the UK and just generally live a gin-centric existence. Not bad. SEE ALSO: 9 interview responses that are not nearly as original as you think A photo posted by Katie Brennan (@bloodyhellbrennan) on Jul 25, 2016 at 9:12am PDT There are […]

How much waste do meal kits actually generate?

by Jason

Image: Scott Eisen/Getty Images People who opt into the regimens of self-assembly gourmet meals pushed by the likes of Blue Apron tend to be the kind of conscious consumers who care about how their fish was caught or their vegetables farmed. Most of these companies offer food that lives up to those ideals, but they also deliver something else: lots and lots of tiny plastic bags, freezer packs, and styrofoam that ends up in the trash. Image: Amazon The nightmare scenario that’s dogged Blue Apron’s stock ever since its muted IPO is here: Amazon is trying its hand at selling its own meal kits. An Amazon-branded selection of DIY gourmet dishes with pre-packaged ingredients is already available through the company’s grocery service, AmazonFresh, in certain markets, GeekWire first reported. Rumors that such a service was in the works had sent Blue Apron’s already-struggling stock spiraling more than 10 percent on Monday. As of Tuesday morning, it was down another 4 percent. Amazon’s foray into the category doesn’t exactly come as a surprise; the company previously filed […]
