Avoid Bad Habits in Internet Marketing
It has been said that it takes approximately 21 days to learn or un-learn a habit. That is indeed good news for marketers who want to quickly acquire effective Internet marketing habits and relinquish any bad habits they may have picked up. Here are 3 steps that will help you avoid bad Internet marketing:
- Ensure that you create a know, like and trust relationship with your target market ((your prospects), before jumping all over them with your sales pitch to buy this or that, remember that the reason people come to the Internet is to get information, free information! That will most likely not change. So, a great "good" habit to get into is to provide lots of free, useful advice, suggestions or tips to your target (intended) market.
- Another habit that will make you an effective Internet marketer is to be consistent and reliable in your content output. That is, when you promise to mail your information or have it posted on your blog, website or newsletter by a certain day or time, ensure you stick to that schedule. Your readers look forward to your help and advice, do not let them down without a very compelling reason.
- Lastly, do not abuse your readers trust by bombarding them with every next "big thing" that comes across your desk. It is better to divide your list (s) into smaller targeted sublists than to mail inappropriate content to your own list and risk annoying your contacts with information that does not interest them.
Avoid bad Internet marketing by observing the golden rule to "not do to others what you would not want done to you!"
