Affiliate Internet Marketing – Your First Sale
Everyday, I come across new affiliate marketers in the forum trying to be too ambitious. It is alright to be ambitious, but there is also a need to have your feet firmly planed on the ground.
For example, it's good to have a goal. Having a goal helps you to get started. But too often, the goals are unrealistic. You see people setting goals like $ 10ka month when they have zero experience with affiliate marketing. It's not impossible to achieve that income level within a month, but the odds are against you.
In my opinion, it is far better to focus on that very first sale. A sale happens when someone, for some reason, decide to buy something that you are promoting. Your job, as an affiliate marketer, is to find out why that person made a purchase. Is it because the offer is too good to resist? Is it because of something you said? What triggered that prospect to buy the product that you recommend?
The answers to these questions are very important. Once you understand the why, you may then scale your affiliate business. You can look for similar products in the market and duplicate what you have just done. Your income will of course, increase accordingly.
You have to remember, it's good to aim for getting a million dollars in sales. But you can not get there if you can not get just one person to buy from you. A million dollars is the sum of a number of sales, bought by many individuals. If you can convince one to buy, and you understand the WHY, you can convince the masses to buy.
So get down to the basics and get your foundations right. The moment you make the first sale, you have tasted blood, and there is no turning back.
